Sat 6th | What is Faith? A Meditation Day Course in Swansea at SA1 6DE
Enjoy a relaxing and meaningful day of meditations and teachings at Dharmavajra Kadampa Buddhist Centre. Learn about the benefits of faith and how to develop and maintain a mind of faith. “Faith is the root of all virtuous qualities and spiritual realisations […] Just as all places are pervaded by space, so all virtuous states of mind are pervaded by faith“ (Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Transform Your Life: A Blissful Journey). Dharmavajra Centre is located at Springfield House, Ffynone Road, Uplands, Swansea SA1 6DE. Sessions will be held between 10.30am and 4pm. The facility fee is £20 (Charity Number: 1039234), which includes lunch and refreshments, served in the Centre’s World Peace Café. Everyone is welcome to attend. Mon 8th | Keeping the Peace: Meditations for Everyone in Swansea at SA1 6DE
From 8th March until 31st March 2010, Dharmavajra Kadampa Buddhist Centre, Swansea, will be holding a series of drop-in meditation classes for everyone, which will provide a clear and simple explanation of how to overcome anger and experience the supreme inner peace that comes from the practice of patience. “When painful feelings arise in our mind, there is no need to panic; we can patiently accept them, experience them, and investigate their nature and where they come from. When we do this, we shall discover that painful feelings do not come to us from outside but arise from within our own mind.” (How to Solve Our Human Problems, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso) Dharmavajra Centre is located at Springfield House, Ffynone Road, Uplands, SA1 6DE. Meditation sessions are held at the following times during term-time: Mondays 12.30pm – 1.00pm: Relax, refresh and unwind with a 30-minute meditation class, including advice on how we can increase our inner peace in daily life, followed by an optional lunch (by donation) in the Centre’s World Peace Café. Mondays, 7.30pm – 9.00pm: For people looking for a deeper understanding of Buddha's teachings. Wednesdays, 7.30pm – 9.00pm: An introductory class teaching meditation and Buddhist ideas for living happily. Classes for children and parents are also held once a month. The next class is scheduled to take place on Friday 12th March 2010 from 6.30pm – 7.30pm. Facility fees are £3.50 for lunchtime classes and £5 for evening classes (Charity Number: 1039234), with a concessionary rate available for students and anyone who is unwaged.
